My name is Sarah-Jane, I'm a herbal health coach and love connecting people to nature.
I've been a western herbal medicine practitioner for 20 years and have more recently qualified as a health coach with the College of Naturopathic Medicine. This is because I think natural medicine and lifestyle medicine go hand-in-hand. I can prescribe a bespoke herbal tonic to meet your unique needs, and together we can work with your diet and lifestyle to create a life of ongoing health.
As a herbalist I generally see clients once a month, whereas with coaching I can accompany you week by week through your healing journey to help keep you on track. I think Health Needs Thyme and that we're not used to assigning time to our health, and we suffer as a consequence. Monthly or weekly check-ins with me, your herbal health coach, can give your health the thyme it needs.,
Natural Family Medicine
As a parent I have experienced 18 years raising 3 children solely with natural medicine. I'm very passionate about supporting nature to work its magic by bringing the body back into health. There are wide and varied ways to support health and healing, herbs are one part of the big picture, and how you live your life, including your choices in nutritional, movement, rest, relationships and other daily habits have a huge impact.
Deep Listening
I have been practicing deep listening and compassionate communication for 7 years. This is a big part of what I offer as I believe it is important that we share our health stories with freedom and depth in order to get the most out of our healing journeys.
Nature Connection
More locally and on social media I can be found creating nourishing outdoor spaces for people to connect in Nature, and in Community. Nature is a great healer, we only have to step into a green space to feel the benefit; nature bathing is medicine for the soul.
Community Organising
I also have a certificate in community organising as I understand the power of being part of something, having that sense of belonging, to be known and valued and to enjoy a shared reality.
Pillars of Health
Often in our western culture we live a life of ongoing action and not much pause for reflection and regeneration. As a holistic practitioner I like to consider these aspects as important pillars of health:
Natural medicine, diet, lifestyle, self-connection, nature connection and community.

Many people don't spend the time to really consider where their health is and where they'd like it to be, or how to bridge that gap. Herbs and coaching can give you the focus and time you need to get on top of your health needs.
Here on my Health Needs Thyme blog you'll find articles about herbs, nature, and healthy lifestyle habits.
