Neurodivergent Letters
Share the truth of your lived experience...

What if...

Hello, I’m Sarah-Jane, AuDHDer, herbal health coach and deep listener. I help neurodivergent minds express their truth with compassion and clarity so that they can enjoy life with a stronger sense of peace and freedom.
I see you...
-
You’re late diagnosed adult ASD, ADHD or AuDHD
-
You have been masking for way too long, struggling behind closed doors
-
You feel misunderstood by your family who really have no idea
-
You are feeling a bit jumbled and confused in your own head
-
You don’t know how to share what life is like for you
-
You’re not even sure anyone cares
-
But you’ve had enough of staying silent

-
You could express yourself with clarity and felt heard in your lived experience?

-
The impact of your unique wiring in a world that’s not set up for you was acknowledged? How hard you've been trying and your struggles and wins recognised?

-
Where you’re at right now made more sense? You close the chapter on your assessment process, felt some movement and healing, enough to begin a new chapter?

-
You honoured “your story” by capturing it in writing? In choice of what goes into the story of you, so that you get a say in how you are seen?

-
Your family, partner, friends, the world, even yourself understood you better? Unmasked and prioritising your own needs rather than everyone else’s?

-
Used your voice, spoke your truth and felt the empowerment of it? Your story contributing towards positive systemic and cultural change?
It takes courage to tell your story…
-
You may want to write to your partner, your parents, your children.

-
You may want to write to yourself, childhood you or future you.
-
You may wan to write to the world, society as we know it, or a system like school or universal credits.
-
This relationship has a big effect on you. It is an intimate connection that impacts your wellbeing.
-
Whoever your recipient, whether you send it or not, you can be sure it will be an enriching process, full of reflection and healing.

-
You choose what to weave into the story of you. It’s your story to tell.
-
Together we will bring compassion for you and your lived experience. Voice your truth with care and respect so that your intended reader may receive your story with compassionate understanding.
-
Post your letter anonymously on our dedicated Substack. Your story is valuable. We are at a turning point. If we want society to change, first we must acknowledge how it is for us.
-
Your story matters. By accessing your voice and sharing your truth, we open-up the possibility of a new future. Your contribution is valid. Your experience matters.
-
Emotions including grief may surface, perhaps anger, resentment or fear. There may also be celebration. A recognition of your uniqueness, how hard you’ve tried, how far you’ve come.

-
It takes courage to share your voice.

...and that in itself is a celebration!

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can I write my letter to? That is up to you! It could be your household, your wider family, your partner, children, parents. I could be your child self or future self, or a system like school, NHS or the mainstream culture of the UK.
What is the timescale from first video call to last? From 1-day to 3 months maximum. You may be eager to get it written all in one day. You may want time between to digest and return to it. All sessions must be completed within 3 months. This means we have a deadline to work towards to ensure we finish the project.
What if I don’t want my letter shared anonymously online? It is your choice whether or not to share it in the Neurodivergent Letters Substack and this will only happen following your written consent.
What is the refund policy? If you need to cancel for a refund, you may do so up to 48 hours in advance of your first session. No refunds will be given after this time.
How is the 1-day option structured? 10am – 12pm: capturing your story in its complexity 1-3pm: one of us writing with an edit check-in part way through 1hr final check-in after about a week later
Do I need to have stories prepared before our first session? Not at all. Everything you will need will be captured during the first 2 hours. It will be a combination of you speaking freely, as well as invitations from me to consider certain elements of your life.
Will we be covering my entire life story? We will be creating a picture of how life is for you now. There may be elements of your past that feel significant and related which can be drawn in.
What if I’m a slow writer/typer? I’m afraid I won’t remember what we’ve covered. There is no need to make your own notes unless you are keen to. I will be making notes as we go along and will make these available to you after. We can also make a recording on zoom if you wish.
What if I think I can write it, but don’t end up managing it? You will have the notes of all we captured during our first call as well as guidance on how to support your letter writing at home, including an optional framework. It is possible to change your mind and request for the letter to be written for you, provided it is within 3 months of the first video call.
What if I would like more support to finish it myself? You can book add on sessions for an additional cost of £50/hr.
What if I would like further support following completion of the letter? You can book these at a cost of £50/hr. I can support you in processing the emotions that follow your unmasking. I will do this with presence, deep listening and empathy so that you can be heard fully and flow forward through healthy authentic expression and self-compassion.
I don’t want to upset anyone with my words. How can we care for the recipient? The purpose of Neurodivergent Letters is for your lived experience to be witnessed via the written word. It is not our purpose to send out blame and judgement; this would be counterproductive. We will express your story with honesty, feeling, life and compassion. You are invited to speak freely within our session. Bring all of you. We can translate any accusations skilfully so that the impact of your experience is preserved without loosing the readers capacity to hear.
